Interview Recording

A screen video with sound of your interview to watch later

Interview recording saves a video of your screen with sound to an .mp4 file, so you can watch the interview again later. Start it with the "Start interview recording" button in the meeting panel. The same menu lets you pick the screen: by default, the monitor with the meeting window is recorded.

  • The recording always includes both the microphone and system audio, even if only one source is selected for transcription. Both are mixed into one track.
  • The microphone and output device come from Settings → Audio and recording → Audio Recording. If the microphone fails to start, recording continues without it.
  • The file is saved in a folder named after the meeting. You can open it from the recording button's menu or in Settings → Application → Storage.

On Linux with Wayland, the system may ask which screen to record. See the Linux page.

Settings

Settings → Audio and recording → Interview Recording. Changes apply from the next recording; a recording in progress keeps its settings.

SettingWhat it affects
Quality presetResolution, frame rate and video quality, from "Low" (1080p) to "Maximum" (4K, 60 fps). Higher quality means bigger files and more load on your computer. "High" by default.
Final recording volumeThe volume of the interviewer and of your voice in the saved video. "Record 5 seconds" records a short clip with the current settings and plays it back right away: speak into the microphone while the interviewer's audio is playing. The test isn't available during an interview recording.
Advanced SettingsFrame rate, maximum resolution, video quality and audio bitrate separately. A screen larger than the chosen resolution is scaled down; a smaller one isn't stretched. Any change here switches the preset to "Custom".
Recording folderWhere to save recordings. Existing recordings aren't moved to the new folder and won't show up in the app's recordings list.
